Beijing, China, April 29, 2001 (Reuter) --TCG Student Services, the world's only global, networked advisory service, received the annual Award of Excellence from the Student Committee of Social Sciences at Peking University. The award is given annually to a person or organization that makes a positive impact on the students of China's oldest, most esteemed university.
"TCG started to gain a presence on campus early last year", said JiaYuan Chen, President of the Committee and a senior majoring in History. "Their global network, and resourceful advisors are very thoughtful in providing assistance to many Chinese students. We often have a wide range of goals as well as specific aspirations. Many students dream of going to other countries, especially the United States, but it is hard to find out how to go. This is one of the ways that TCG has helped us. We are very grateful for this resource, and this is why we give the award this year to them."
Chen initially joined TCG Student Services for guidance and help with his applications to graduate school programs in the United States. With TCG's eAdvisory service, they were able to provide this service via network connections with Chinese Nationals currently studying inside the United States. Chen recently completed applications to eleven graduate programs, and has already been admitted to the History Department at the University of Seattle.
"This award is extremely significant for TCG, because it validates our presence in Mainland China, obviously an enormous Student Services market", said Andrew Yan, Regional Director for TCG Student Services in China. "Also, it demonstrates that we are truly a global network, able to add value for members Student Services. A lot of companies talk about having a global presence, but TCG takes the idea seriously, and this is shown when we are recognized by awards like this."
TCG looks forward to expanding its network in China, and plans for a Chinese Language site are currently in development.
